RCS Speaker Meeting March 4, 2025 with Dr. Aga
On the evening of March 4th, our Rotary Club gathered for a memorable meeting filled with camaraderie, learning, and celebration. We were deeply honoured to welcome RCS Past President Roger Owens, who has recently joined RC Dublin. Roger’s visit was made even more special by his generous donation of a fine bottle of Irish whiskey, which was later auctioned as one of the evening’s highlights. We were also delighted that PBC Chair Jeff and Moto shared an inspiring report about their experience at the Peace Conference in Istanbul. Another exciting moment of the evening was the induction of Giovanna. Giovanna, as a young member, will bring great vibrancy to our club. Her sponsor, Tiziana, noted that it is wonderful to see a young woman join our ranks. And speaking of Tiziana, March is her birthday month. She and Thomas were in attendance to receive the birthday sing-song and March birthday cake
The evening’s program featured Dr. Aga from Parkway Health, who gave an enlightening talk on menopause and andropause, a condition that affects men but is one most of us menfolk were unaware of. Rita also gave us a wonderful reason to celebrate, sharing that it has been a year since her last breast cancer check-up. To mark this milestone, she revived the beloved facemask challenge. Vivian also distributed pink ribbons to raise awareness about breast cancer, reminding us of the importance of supporting this critical cause. The night concluded with an exciting auction featuring three unique items: an Italian red horn, Roger’s gifted Irish whiskey, and a specially designed plate gifted to us by Snowland Arts. The evening ended joyfully as all Rotarians donned their face masks for a lively group photo. It was truly a fun and unforgettable night for all!
