RCS Speaker Meeting October 29, 2024
On October 29, the Rotary Club of Shanghai held a dynamic meeting featuring an inspiring talk by Mike Hackl, who captivated members with insights on the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in the business landscape. Hackl emphasized how AI can streamline operations, enhance decision-making, and drive innovation, encouraging attendees to embrace these technologies for future growth in their businesses.
Françoise Mathieu, Ph.D., director of the Kashin-Beck Disease Fund, shared updates on the long-term project that RCS has supported for many years. The Kashin-Beck Disease Fund (KBD Fund) is a non-profit organization and the only NGO dedicated specifically to preventing Kashin-Beck Disease (KBD) among Tibetan children.
In addition to the enlightening discussions, the club demonstrated its commitment to making the world a better place by collecting an impressive 2,756 RMB in Happy Money, all for the cause of fighting polio. Of this amount, 1,500 RMB was raised through the auction of two books donated by visiting Rotarian Dr. Florian Langenscheidt, a best-selling author and speaker on optimism and happiness from Germany.
