Wuhan hospital visit

By Linnet Kwok

Early morning May 13th we (Tracy, Catalin’s wife Raluca and myself) took the train from Hong Qiao to Wuhan.  We were welcomed warmly at the train station by a team of the Wuhan Asia Heart Hospital.

The 3 hour visit included a professionally produced introduction video, discussion of potential partnership and hospital tour. The 750 bed Hospital was established in 1999. It has performed over 216,000 cases of heart related surgeries and is registered as a national A-Grade hospital for Cardiac Surgery. Afterwards we had to rush to the train station for the 6 hour ride back to Shanghai.

It was a fruitful trip as  hospital partnerships are vital to our GOL program. We can work together to save more lifes and make a difference to those who would never had a chance.
